Tieck-Halle Nasal Specula are small speculums that can be used in the anterior rhinoscopy examinations of children and younger adults. The speculum has two flat handles that are designed with ridged surfaces to allow a better grip by the operator. The handles are used to open the speculums right and left blades by the non-dominant hand. Care should be taken not to open the blades maximally after insertion to prevent injury of the nasal mucosa. The blades should also be closed approximated slightly before removal. The speculum is available with a size of 13 cm and a blade length of 16 mm to provide delicate examinations in younger patients.
